Commercial Filming in a Public Place

Commercial Filming in a Public Place

All commercial filming in a public place requires an Event in a Public Place application form to be completed prior to a permit being issued.

When completing the application it is important to provide as much information as possible. If the filming process will include staging or other equipment then a detailed event application will be required and additional fees may apply for venue hire.

For all event applications it is very important all details of the proposed event, the organiser contact details and the application checklist are fully completed. When completing the application checklist this will provide information on what other sections of the event process you will need to complete, and important information to allow shire officers to progress your application. The application form also contains guidelines and other important information relating to the organisers responsibilities.

If the filming includes the use of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (Drone / UAS) there are additional approvals that apply. Evidence that these approvals have been obtained will be required, including the license to operate. Please contact Air Service Australia for further information on gaining approval for this type of filming http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/services/unmanned-aerial-systems-in-controlled-airspace/

A Commercial Filming Permit fee is charged in accordance with the Shire of Broome Schedule of Fees and Charges (see Events Schedule of Fees and Charges below).
