Club Development Program

The state-wide Club Development Officers' Scheme is an initiative of the WA Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and is implemented in partnership with a number of local government authorities, including the Shire of Broome.

The Shire of Broome’s Club Development Officer supports sport and recreation club volunteers through communication, education and acknowledgement. The aim, through the Club Development Framework is to create a collaborative approach to club development by connecting State Sporting Associations, Regional Sport Associations, local government and community organisations to provide leadership, education and training.

KidSport

KidSport enables Western Australian children to participate in community sport and recreation, no matter their financial circumstances. Eligible youth aged 5–18 years can apply for a maximum of $200 per child to contribute towards club fees annually. The fees will go directly to the registered KidSport clubs through the Shire of Broome.

KidSport is a partnership between the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and the Shire of Broome.

Individual Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must be aged between 5 and 18 years
  • Applicants must have a Health Care Card or a Pension Concession Card
  • Applicant’s primary place of residence must be in the local government to which they are applying
