Draft BRAC 1 Youth Bike Precinct Master Plan

Plans are progressing for a new Youth Bike Precinct at Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre to include mountain bike trails, pump track and skills section, BMX jumps, sports courts, walking paths and shade shelters.

Broome Shire President, Ron Johnston, says the draft BRAC 1 Youth Bike Precinct Master Plan was developed with extensive community input and Council is now seeking any final comments before it’s adopted.

“We’ve gathered considerable input to find out what the community wants, and the Master Plan prioritises the different facilities in the precinct so they can be developed in stages as funding becomes available,” he says.

“We want this to become a community-owned space that is safe, inviting and relaxed, and promotes healthy and active living.”

Proposed to be located alongside the BRAC playing fields, the precinct would also include facilities for open-air events, public art and more.
