Draft Cable Beach Foreshore Master Plan

In September 2016 the Shire engaged UDLA to prepare a Master Plan for the Cable Beach foreshore area and adjacent portions of the Cable Beach Rd West Road Reserve.

The draft Master Plan considers, in greater detail, the concept designs that formed part of the Cable Beach Development Strategy (2016), and provides a bold long term vision for the Cable Beach Foreshore area.

Improvements set out in the Master Plan include reconfiguring the car park to create a new beach park; creation of a new entry plaza and an upgraded entry with public art, entry statement, garden bed and tree planting; regrading of the dunes to increase ocean views from the site; universal access across the foreshore area; and a buried seawall to manage coastal erosion.

The draft Master Plan was adopted by Council for the purposes of public advertising at the Ordinary Meeting of Council on 29 June 2017.

A copy of the draft Master Plan and submission form can be downloaded below. Submissions open Thursday 13 July 2017 and can be addressed to the Shire of Broome and mailed to PO Box 44, Broome WA 6275; emailed to shire@broome.wa.gov.au or handed in to the Shire Administration office at 44 Weld St by 4pm on Friday 25 August 2017.
