The Council of the Shire of Broome proposes to make the following local laws:

Local Government Property and Public Places Amendment Local Law 2017

Purpose:

The purpose of the Local Government Property and Public Places Amendment Local Law 2017 is to:

  • Ensure the Local Government Property and Public Places Local Law 2016 is effective in ensuring that local government property and public places are regulated and managed to the benefit of all users;
  • Ensure the Local Government Property and Public Places Local Law 2016 is effective in managing events on private land to minimise the impacts on surrounding land and safeguard the safety of attendees. 

Effect:

The effect of the Local Government Property and Public Places Amendment Local Law 2017 is to:

  • Ensure the Local Government Property and Public Places Local Law 2016 has the effect of appropriately controlling the use of local government property and activities in public place

 

Trading, Outdoor Dining and Street Entertainment Amendment Local Law 2017

Purpose:

 The purpose of the Trading, Outdoor Dining and Street Entertainment Amendment Local Law 2017 is to:

  • Ensure the Trading, Outdoor Dining and Street Entertainment Local Law 2016 is effective in regulating trading, outdoor dining and street entertainment in the Shire and that the area of application is clarified.

Effect:

 The effect of the Trading, Outdoor Dining and Street Entertainment Amendment Local Law 2017 is to:

  • Remove ambiguity in relation to the application of the Local Government Property and Public Places Local Law 2016. 

 

Copies of the proposed local laws may be inspected at, or obtained from, the Shire Administration Centre, corner of Weld and Haas Streets, Broome between 8.30am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday (public holidays excepted), or at the links below.

Written submissions about the proposed local laws may be made to the Chief Executive Officer, Shire of Broome, PO Box 44, Broome WA 6725. Submissions must be received by no later than 4pm on Friday 1 December 2017.
