Free pre-cyclone household drop-off at waste facility

The Shire of Broome is offering two weekends of free household waste drop off at the Broome Waste Management Facility to help prepare for the upcoming cyclone season. 

This year, the annual pre-cyclone waste disposal weekends will be held on 27 - 28 October and 3 - 4 November and is available to the residents of Broome.  The weekend is in addition to the six free waste passes each year to ratepayers. There will be no kerbside collection.

Eligible items for the free weekends:

  • White goods such as fridges, freezers and air conditioners
  • Scrap metal
  • Furniture and mattresses
  • E-waste such as televisions, computers, printers and monitors
  • Batteries
  • Green waste and timber
  • Oil

 Items NOT eligible:

  • Tyres and car parts
  • Gas bottles
  • Asbestos, paint, liquid waste, chemical or hazardous waste
  • Commercial and demolition waste
  • Flares
  • Fire extinguishers

The Waste Management Facility is open 7.30am to 3.30pm on Saturdays and 8am to 2pm on Sundays.
