Planning is underway for this year’s community Christmas celebrations in Chinatown with the event scheduled for Friday 7 December from 4pm to 8.30pm.

The Shire of Broome is organising the Chinatown Christmas Trails and Carols by Candlelight event and looking for community partners, sponsors and volunteers to come on board.

This year’s event will bring together the popular annual community Christmas party with Carols by Candlelight.

The Christmas Trail will run in Chinatown from 4pm to 6.30pm with children’s activities, entertainment, Father Christmas and more.

Then from 7pm to 8.30pm, Male Oval will come alive for Carols by Candlelight, with the Shire working with Broome’s combined churches, choir, school groups and performers.

Sponsors on board so far include the Buru Energy, Chinatown Revitalisation Project, Air Services Australia, Broome Advertiser and Spirit 102.9.

Anyone wishing to become involved in the event or to help run children’s activities can contact the Shire on 9191 3456 or shire@broome.wa.gov.au.
