Beach Inspectors

Shire of Broome Beach Inspectors do roving patrols of beaches extending from Gantheaume Point to Cable Beach and Coconut wells. Their primary function is to provide a mobile first aid and rescue service and promote public compliance of local government bi-laws.

Hours of Service

Wet Season November to March: Friday to Tuesday 0900 - 1800 hours
Dry Season April to September: Monday to Friday 0800 - 1700 hours

Lifeguards

In the interest of public safety and enjoyment, Shire Lifeguards in partnership with the Broome Surf Lifesaving Club maintain daily patrols of the recommended swimming area on Cable Beach. The area is marked by red and yellow flags and is situated adjacent to the Broome Surf Lifesaving Club.

Lifeguards provide a first aid and rescue service to public on Cable Beach and can also answer any questions relating to beach safety, jellyfish tides and beaches.

Broome Surf Life Saving Club

The Broome Surf Life Saving Club is located at the heart of Cable Beach. The club provides an essential service to the community by training members in first aid, surf rescue and resuscitation techniques. Volunteers provide first aid and rescue services in the designated swimming areas. Contact the Broome Surf Life Saving Club for further information.
