The Broome Public Library promotes equitable access to worldwide information and library resources by providing a welcoming environment and professional service. The Library is available to all members of the community and is well stocked with over 22,000 volumes.

The Library also provides an inter-library loans service, remote mailing service, free Wifi, Internet access and computer terminals for library patrons.

The Library contains a comprehensive collection of Fiction, and Non-fiction books, Large Print books, Magazines and Newspapers, audio books and DVD Collection.

Special collections include: Languages Other Than English, early readers and board books to support early literacy, Local Studies and Books on Prescription.

New Stock

There is a regular exchange of items to ensure up to date and varied stock. New books are displayed on our feature stands for one week. If you would like to borrow these books, ask the Library staff to reserve the books you require.

Community Programs and Facilities

Terrific Tales for 2's and 3's is held every Tuesday from 10.30am except school holidays. Rhyme time for babies 0-12months is held every Monday at 10.30 during term time. Craft based holiday activities are held in the April July and October school holidays. Reading incentive program Hooked on Books  is for year 1s. A first birthday Club morning tea is held every 2 months. "Meet the Author Evenings" are held on an irregular basis. Photocopying facilities are available. Internet terminals are available for research.
