BRAC1 Youth Bike Precinct

The Shire of Broome's BRAC 1 Youth Bike Precinct Masterplan was developed to provide a natural bush recreation area in an urban setting for our community, particularly our youth.

The project will be developed in stages to activate the land located between Father McMahon Sports Field and the Boulevard Shopping Centre.

The document focuses on providing bike related facilities for the community, with an emphasis on youth.

The Broome Pump track forms the first stage in the project. It was constructed with financial assistance from the Department of Local Government, Sport & Cultural Industries (DGLSC) Community Sporting & Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) and the Shire of Broome, and in-kind support from McCorry Brown Earthmoving, Roadline Civil Contractors, MNG and H&M Tracey.

Stage 1b of the precinct incorporates mountain bike tracks and trails around the perimeter of the site including multiple technical aspects for advanced to novice riders, and an informal jump area. A walk/run trail is also part of the design.

The Tracks and Trails are funded in partnership between the Shire of Broome and the Federal Government’s Community Sporting Infrastructure Program and is due to commence following the completion of the pump track.
