Proposed Meeting Procedures Local Law

The Shire of Broome proposes to make a local law relating to local government meeting procedures.

The purpose of the local law is to provide for rules and guidelines which apply to the conduct of meetings of the Council and its Committees and to the meetings of electors within the district of the Shire of Broome.

The effect of the local law is to establish requirements for better decision making by the Council and Committees, the orderly conduct of meetings, better understanding of the processes of conducting meetings and the more efficient and effective use of time at meetings, within the district of the Shire of Broome.

A copy of the Local Laws can be found on the Shire of Broome website here(PDF, 410KB) or can be inspected or obtained at the Shire of Broome Administration Office.

Submissions regarding the proposed local law may be made to the Shire prior to 4pm, Monday 24 August 2020.
