Review of Sport and Recreation Plan – Community Workshop

The Shire of Broome has appointed Paatsch Group to undertake a review and update of the Sport and Recreation Strategy 2019-2029 including the Master Plan for the Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre (BRAC).

A workshop to provide input into the update of the Strategy and the future facilities at the BRAC will be held for the community to provide input.

Workshop details:

  • Date: Tuesday 18 May 2021
  • Time: 6:30pm to 8:15pm
  • Location: Shire Administration Building, Function Room, 27 Weld Street

A separate workshop will be held on Monday 17 May for the sporting associations and groups that are current users of the BRAC.

To register your interest in attending, please email mike.doyle@broome.wa.gov.au - RSVP is necessary for attendance.

Items for discussion will include:

  • Identification of likely growth and development areas and any facility requirements associated with this.
  • Understanding what currently works well and what does not or could be improved with current facilities.
  • Identification of priorities for facility development.

For the BRAC:

  • Requirements for the facility. Consideration of needs versus wants. 
  • Gain an understanding of what facilities can be shared (if any) and the parameters (with who, times etc.) of any sharing and/or the facilities that cannot be shared.
  • Identification and prioritisation of future facility requirements.
