The Shire of Broome is excited to release the Draft Weed Management Plan 2026-2029 for public comment - and we want your voice to be heard.
The Weed Management Strategy and Action Plan 2026–2029 outlines a coordinated approach to tackling invasive weeds across the Broome townsite. Developed with input from local experts and community stakeholders, the plan prioritises the protection of key environmental and cultural assets like Minyirr Park. It sets out practical actions to prevent the spread of weeds, support community involvement, and guide sustainable weed control practices.
To reach this stage, we engaged specialist consultants to assess the weed issues within the townsite. They worked closely with key stakeholders and local experts to develop the draft plan.
