Broome Public Library's Local Studies Collection, "Broome & Beyond", is dedicated to collecting, preserving and celebrating the unique history and heritage of the Shire of Broome..

The Local Studies collection is a valuable source of publicly available information on the environmental, historical, social, cultural and developmental attributes of the area that falls within the boundaries of the Shire. The collection contains books, reports, oral histories, photographs, maps, local newspapers and other items of local interest. Some are available to loan, but rare and valuable items are kept in the Local Studies archive and can be made available by appointment.
