Broome Public Library is open and operating within the requirements of our COVID safe plan, for the safety of staff and the public. 

The library has returned to normal operating hours: 

Monday           10am to 5pm

Tuesday          10am to 7pm          

Wednesday     10am to 5pm

Thursday         10am to 7pm

Friday              10am to 5pm

Saturday          9am to 12 noon

 Building Babies Brains

Join in some fun activities about how to build a healthy brain, strong relationships and understand the importance of language for your 0-3 year old.  

Module 1 Early Brain Development             Friday 7th May 2021 11am

This module looks at the development of brain wiring and the importance of healthy habits for mother and baby.

Module 2 Early Relationships                      Friday 14th May 2021 11am

This module covers the importance of language in a child's development and shows strategies for reading with your child.

 Module 3  Oral Language Development      Friday 21st May 2021  11am                                  

 This module explores secure connections with family members, emotional responses and regulation and building a child's executive function skills ready for life long learning.

Author Event 

Author Barry Smith has written a number of books and is visiting the Kimberley.  He is the author of the Kimberley Trilogy of Australian historical novels - For Freedom's Cause, Battle for the North & Kimberley Kill.  

Come along to the library at 5.45pm Thursday 6th May.

mBot coding & robotics workshops for kids.

Aimed at 8-10 year olds. Free. Limited places. Booking is for the ten week program.
Tuesday afternoons begins 27th April, then 4, 11, 18 & 25 May. 1. 8. 15. 22 & 29 June.

 

Each session starts at 4.30pm for approximately 1 hour.

Parent/caregiver must attend - a perfect opportunity for both generations to learn and share.
Ideally, kids should attend all 5 sessions to get maximum benefit from the workshop series.

Usual Children's Programs

 All of our usual weekly children's programs will return for Term 2 2021, including:

  • Toddler Rhyme Time on Mondays at 10.30am
  • Story Time on Tuesdays at 10.30am
  • Baby Rhyme Time on Fridays at 10.30am
  • Lego Club Thursdays at 3.00 - 4.30pm.

Tech help
