The Broome Civic Centre has three upcoming shows to kick off the dry season shenanigans, set to make you laugh, cry and dance.

The first show is WA’s award winning See You Next Tuesday (SYNT) - a fresh and frank new comedy about young people and growing up.

SYNT is about the messy failures of puberty, which are laid bare in this roller coaster - we’re talking hormones, smartphones, and really big feelings.

SYNT is showing on Saturday, May 7 – the eve of Mothers Day.

Secondly, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow (MICFR) rolls into Broome on Saturday, May 14.

MICFR brings the freshest and funniest talent from the 2022 festival to Broome and is sure to satisfy your live comedy fix.

Last but not least, The Sapphires is written and directed by Tony Briggs and one of Australia’s best-loved stories, winning multiple awards as a play, film and soundtrack album.

The Sapphires is a funny, heart-warming tale inspired by the true story of four Yorta Yorta women. It is an energetic, fun and engaging play that affirms life and the realisation of dreams.

The Sapphires is coming to the Civic Centre stage on Saturday, May 28.

Shire of Broome president Harold Tracey said it was great to see a diverse range of shows at the Civic Centre, to suit multiple audiences over the course of May.

“With COVID-19 affecting the entertainment industry as of late, it is great to see some normality being brought back to our first-class venue,” he said.

“Whether you’re after something thought provoking, a sing along or a good old-fashioned chuckle… the Civic Centre has a smorgasbord of offerings.
