After a successful and well-attended official opening on Saturday, the implementation of public art at the Town Beach Jetty is set to start today.

This artwork has been developed by local artist Maxine Charlie, with the design to be sandblasted into the concrete promenade leading up to the jetty.

Specialist contractor SCAPE-ISM is undertaking the work, which will take seven days to complete.

The jetty will remain open for the majority of the week, but pedestrian access along the groyne out to the jetty will be restricted while sandblasting is underway.

Members of the public are asked to keep their distance from the work, while the jetty will need to be temporarily closed when sandblasting of the area adjacent to its entry is undertaken.

Full accessibility to the jetty will be available from 4pm each day.

Thank you for your patience as the work takes place – the finished product is going to be spectacular!
