Town Beach Jetty

Opened in November 2022, the Town Beach Jetty was built for the Broome community and visitors to enjoy all year round. Come down to see the beautiful turquoise waters of Roebuck Bay and watch the amazing tidal movements, view marine life, drop a line or access your vessel. It also provides a location to enjoy the Staircase to the Moon natural phenomenon over the mud flats.

The 112m Jetty extends from the end of a unique Kimberley Quartzite groyne and was built with a concrete deck on steel piles. The structure also includes an aluminium landing structure for all abilities access to and from vessels. The Jetty is lit at night providing a 24h asset for the community and visitors.

The jetty extends high above the seabed to account for Broome’s 10m+ tides, future sea level rise and wave action during cyclonic events. The jetty has a 1.1m high balustrade for everyone’s safety on low tides. The Jetty does become landlocked at times due to the large tidal variations in Broome.

Town Beach also has a white sand beach, cafe, an award-winning park and play space, a public water park, an historic pioneer cemetery and a war memorial for the Catalina Wrecks.
