The Shire of Broome is committed to providing socially inclusive, useable spaces for our young people – with the new Broome Skatepark a project a lot of community members are looking forward to.
To be based on the existing skatepark site at the entry to Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre, the Shire has engaged award-winning consultants Convic during the design process.
The Shire held a four-week public consultation period recently, with our community survey taken by over 200 people.
A great amount of feedback on what residents wanted from the new skatepark was garnered, with a draft concept design formed and available for the community’s review.
A second public consultation period is now open until September 25, with stakeholders and the public encouraged to let us know their thoughts on the draft design.
