Kids' Wardrobe Swap

After the success of the Wardrobe Swap event earlier this year, the Shire of Broome is inviting families to take part in our FREE Kids' Wardrobe Swap at Town Beach on Saturday, 4 October 2025 from 8.30am to 10.30am.

Clothing drop-offs will be accepted between 8.00am and 9.30am before the swap begins.

The event is a fun and sustainable way for families to recycle children’s clothing that is no longer needed, while picking out new favourites at no cost. By giving pre-loved clothes a second life, the swap helps reduce textile waste and supports a more sustainable lifestyle.

On arrival, participants will register at the welcome desk and have their incoming bags weighed so that the total amount of textile waste saved from landfill can be tracked. Clothing will then be sorted by size with help from staff and volunteers before families are invited to browse and take home items they need. Families are encouraged to bring along reusable bags for carrying their swapped clothing.

There will also be plenty to enjoy on the day, including kids activities and face painting, with Matt’s Filipino Coffee & Food Van serving up delicious treats and offering $1 off for anyone who brings a keep cup.

Everyone is welcome to come along, get involved and be part of this community-driven initiative!

What to Bring

• Clean, good-quality children’s clothing (sizes newborn to age 12)

• Nearly new children’s shoes in good condition

What Not to Bring

• Teen or adult clothing

• Clothes that are stained, torn, or heavily worn

• Undergarments, pyjamas, or swimwear

• Toys, books, or games

Please note: A strict quality screening process will be in place. Any unclaimed clothing after the event will be donated to a local charity.
