In a commitment to making engaging with the Shire of Broome easier, a new suite of online services is now available for residents.

New online resources include the ability to register pets or renew dog/cat registrations, pay infringements, improves the process for paying rates online and make debtor invoice payments.

Building application lodgement is to become available shortly.

Previously residents would have to visit the Shire administration building or call on the phone to make a payment.

While the old options remain, the adoption of new online services has been made with the objective of making things quicker and easier.

Shire rangers will also be introducing a new infringements process, with the use of technology to make the process simpler for everyone involved.

Previously, rangers would issue infringements with paper-based documentation, but this is being changed to a digital format.

Shire of Broome chief executive officer Sam Mastrolembo said the goal was to streamline engagement with the community.

“The Shire rolled out a fresh new website earlier this year and the provision of additional online services now makes sense,” he said.

“The use of digital forms is a modernisation of process, making things easier for Shire staff and the community.

“It will also reduce paper-based administration.”

To make use of the Shire’s online services, visit the website at www.broome.wa.gov.au and go to the ‘Make a Payment’ tab on the homepage.
