Chinatown Stage Two construction works are now in full swing and a variety of initiatives have been implemented to ensure that customer access to local businesses is not compromised.

Council recently endorsed temporary revised timed parking limits in the precinct to ensure good customer accessibility to impacted businesses is retained over the construction period.

Please be aware, a 15-minute time limit on car parking berths on Gray Street, adjacent to the Paspaley Plaza facility, has now been implemented.

This will be in effect while construction work is taking place along Carnarvon Street North, primarily to ensure adequate parking and access is provided to the highly frequented Post Office.

Rangers will be embarking on an education process on site in forthcoming weeks as motorists get used to the change.

Despite the inconvenience of road closures, there are lots of parking options available to access Chinatown.

The double-storey Paspaley Plaza car park remains available, which makes access to the shopping centre, Coles and the post office easy.

Motorists can park in the upstairs car park and use the elevator to get to Coles after 6pm each day, when the Paspaley Plaza shopping centre access closes.

A temporary car park north of BWS on Carnarvon Street is being established and can be accessed by Gray Street. There is also temporary parking available on Male Oval and at the Broome Visitor Centre.

The Shire thanks the community for its understanding and patience while this important work is undertaken.
