The Shire of Broome is in the process of developing a new Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) for 2023-2028 and is seeking community input.

The purpose of the DAIP is to ensure all people, including people with disability, are welcomed and included in the shire, and have access to Shire buildings, information, public consultations, complaints processes, services, and employment opportunities.

There are several different ways to get involved and provide feedback, including a community DAIP survey being conducted by E-QUAL Disability Consultants on behalf of the Shire.

The survey can be completed online or via a hard copy, which is attached for downloading or available at reception at the Shire Administration Building at 27 Weld Street - the address to send competed surveys is on the front page.

Other ways to get involved and provide feedback include:

  • Reviewing the current DAIP at www.broome.wa.gov.au/DAIP
  • Contacting mike.doyle@broome.wa.gov.au
  • Attending one of two community forums.

The community forums will held at the Function Room at the Shire Administration at 27 Weld Street on Monday, March 13, from 5pm to 7pm, and Tuesday, March 14, from 11am to 1pm.

They are free to attend, however RSVP is essential via mike.doyle@broome.wa.gov.au.

The Shire welcomes your ideas on how we can make our community more accessible and inclusive for everyone and hopes to see you at one of the community forums.
