The Shire of Broome Shinju Matsuri Acquisitive Art Prize is awarded annually to encourage the development of art and artists and to establish an art collection reflecting the development of Kimberley art.
Each year, the Shinju Matsuri Art Awards invite entries from artists across the Kimberley and beyond for exhibition during the annual Shinju Matsuri – Broome’s longest-running community cultural festival.
An expert judge or panel of judges is appointed by Shinju Matsuri Inc to choose winners in a range of categories across a range of media.
