Roadworks to improve safety and traffic flow and repair aging infrastructure are underway on a section of Old Broome Road until late July. From Saturday 20 June until Wednesday 1 July, Old Broome Road is temporarily open to southbound traffic and pedestrians.

The Broome Surf Life Saving Club is located at the heart of Cable Beach. The club provides an essential service to the community by training members in first aid, surf rescue and resuscitation techniques.
