Submit a Public Question

Questions may be submitted using this form no later than 12 noon on the day of the Council meeting.

Under the Shire of Broome Meeting Procedures Local Law 2020, members of the public wishing to ask a question at a Council meeting are required to attend the meeting in person and ask their question during Public Question Time, including questions submitted in advance through this form.

Please note that submitting a question through this form does not enable participation online and does not replace the requirement to attend the meeting in person.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, the Shire President may, at their discretion, read your question aloud on your behalf. Where a question is dealt with administratively rather than during the meeting, the question and corresponding response will be published in the minutes of the following month's Ordinary Council Meeting, which are available on the Shire of Broome website.

Questions are conducted in accordance with the Local Government Act 1995 and the Shire of Broome Meeting Procedures Local Law 2020.

1. Questions must be brief and concise and relate to the ordinary business of the Shire of Broome or the functions of Council.
2. No debate or discussion is permitted on any question or response.
3. Questions relating to an agenda item will be considered first. General questions will then be considered in the order received.
4. A summary of each question and response will be recorded in the meeting minutes.
