Invitation to submit an expression of interest (EOI) to provide an Out of School Hour Care service at the Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre (BRAC).
In recognition that the Shire of Broome has been asked by the community to consider any available option to help resolve the current childcare crisis, the Shire is seeking expressions of interest from providers to deliver an Out of School Hour Care (OSHC) service, from the Multipurpose Room at the BRAC site.
- Premises
The multi-purpose room (MPR) at BRAC, including outdoor fenced playground, will be available for the service provider to deliver the service. There will be extremely limited storage available, which can be discussed with Shire staff. Respondents are welcome to attend a site inspection at the site.
- Process
The process is open to all interested providers. Open expressions of interest are invited in the form of a written statement and should address the following criteria:
- Desired licence or operating agreement, including the fixed period and fees to be paid to the Shire of Broome. For the current MPR fee schedule, please visit www.broome.wa.gov.au.
- Proposed hours of operation, including the likelihood of vacation care being offered;
- Fees and charges for parents;
- Staffing ratios and arrangements;
- Sample programs for before and after school and vacation programs;
- Complaints policy and procedures;
- Demonstration of previous/current service delivery in similar settings;
- Brief history of the organisation (to include length of time in business, name(s) of the company principal(s) or business owner(s) and the present number of full-time employees and their designations, major clients and industry expertise);
- Any other information you wish to provide to support your EOI.
- Evaluation Process
Following the close of the EOI, submissions will be evaluated and an evaluation report will be prepared for approval of the Shire of Broome Council. Following approval by Council, Shire officers will commence direct negotiations of an agreement. Each submission will be evaluated using information provided in the EOI. Submissions will be checked for completeness and compliance.
- Next steps
If there are questions or comments about this EOI or the evaluation process, respondents can contact Elise Pendlebury, Economic Development Coordinator, at ependlebury@broome.wa.gov.au.
Expressions of interest must be submitted in writing and directed to the Chief Executive Officer by email at shire@broome.wa.gov.au, and will be received until 4pm on September 23, 2022.
