Cable Beach Foreshore Redevelopment project update

The Shire of Broome is progressing with the detailed design phase of the Cable Beach Foreshore Redevelopment project, with a dedicated group of stakeholders and community members coming together to discuss the project last week.

A Community and Stakeholder Reference Group has been established to ensure engagement as the project in the detailed design phase and to act as a conduit between the Shire and our community on the project.

The group, made up of 24 members, hosted its first meeting on December 7 at the Shire function room, before a site walkthrough took place on the morning of December 8.

The Shire has already engaged with Nyamba Buru Yawuru and walked the sites with their lore bosses.

The Shire’s consultants, Josh Byrne and Associates, are undertaking the detailed design phase and another opportunity for public input will be made available in the first half of 2022.
