A plan for the future of the Broome Cemetery, compiled in collaboration with the local community, has been endorsed by Council.

The Broome Cemetery Master Plan 2020 was adopted at December’s Ordinary Council Meeting, with the document detailing the community’s priorities for the local cemetery.

Comments and feedback was garnered from Broome residents during a public submission period, which was held in September, October and November last year.

A major priority voiced by the community was safety and security within the cemetery through the establishment of 1.8m perimeter fencing.

This project is proposed to be funded in the 2021/22 Budget, using Local Road Community Infrastructure funding from the Federal Government.
