The new clubhouse and restaurant at Broome Golf Club were officially opened over the weekend following the completion of construction work.

The Shire of Broome partnered with the Golf Club and the Federal Government to co-fund the new facilities, which boast stunning 360-degree views.

With exceptional attention to detail and quality workmanship, a new clubhouse and restaurant facility have been completed on time and to budget by CWD Builders and local sub-contractors.

The clubhouse will be a major asset for the Broome Golf Club and their members, while the restaurant, once a tenant can be found, will provide another hospitality asset for the town.

Shire of Broome deputy president Desiree Male said the project had turned an ambitious idea into a fantastic end product.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to the Federal Government, in particular Member for Durack Melissa Price, for their funding assistance – this project is a great example of what can be achieved when different tiers of government work in collaboration,” she said.

“We know that membership of Broome’s local sporting groups in our town increased by an impressive 45 per cent between 2017 and 2019, with female participation jumping by 57 per cent in the same time period.

“The Shire is committed to boosting our town’s infrastructure and having new facilities at the Golf Club is another asset for Broome.”

Member for Durack Melissa Price congratulated the Golf Club for its successful funding application.

“The successful application for this project through the Morrison Government’s Building Better Regions Fund is a great example of what the fund is designed to do,” she said.

“The $5.1 million investment in community infrastructure provides long-term benefits to the local community, the tourism industry and the whole Kimberley region.”
