The Shire is about to embark on a review of the development strategies for Cable Beach and Chinatown/Old Broome.
The review of these development strategies will result in the preparation of two new precinct plans for the Cable Beach and Chinatown/Old Broome Precincts.
A precinct plan is a planning tool used to guide areas that have been identified for more intensity of development to ensure they are carefully planned, designed and developed to achieve good building, open space and transport outcomes.
The development of the precinct plans may result in changes to the Shire’s existing planning controls and we want the community to be a part of the process.
There will be several ways the community can get involved, information on dates and times will follow:
While every stage of the engagement is important, we strongly encourage people to participate early when there is the greatest possible opportunity to help shape and inform the preparation of the precinct plans.
The Shire is encouraging anyone with an interest in participating in the community engagement to register their interest so they can be kept up to date with engagement dates, key timeframes and project updates.
To register your interest please e-mail shire@broome.wa.gov.au.
If you would like to discuss any of the above, please contact the Shire on 9191 3456 and ask to speak to the Planning Team.
