July 2024 School Holiday

The Shire recently concluded a series of free events to celebrate the July school holidays, providing entertainment to the local community and visitors.

From laser tag battles to sand sculpture competitions, the shire ensured there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The festivities kicked off on Monday, July 2, with a sand sculpture competition at Cable Beach. The Shire worked collaboratively with Kimberley Arts Network (KAN) to facilitate a creative competition where participants were invited to bring to life sea creatures in the sand.

July 2 featured a lively laser tag event at the Civic Centre and Sun and Surf Day, where beachgoers enjoyed free boogie board use.

We worked with the Cable Beach General Store to host a mini golf day on Friday, July 5, allowing families a free round of putt-putt.

The fun continued on Saturday, July 6, with a Family Fun Day at the Cable Beach Amphitheatre.

The series of events concluded on Sunday, July 7, with a fishing competition at the Town Beach Jetty. Participants of all ages cast their lines, hoping to catch the biggest fish and win prizes.

The Shire expresses gratitude to everyone who participated in the events and helped make them a success.

Special thanks are extended to the local vendors who supported these activities.

The Shire acknowledges the generous grant funding provided by Rio Tinto, which was instrumental in making these programs possible.
