The Shire of Broome’s April 2021 Ordinary Meeting of Council will be held on Thursday, April 29, from 5pm at the Shire’s Council Chambers, with members of the public welcome to attend.

The agenda is now available online, with a number of items to be voted on.

After a six-week Community Review process for the Regional Resource Recovery Park project, Councillors are being asked to vote on the next step of the project including the site for the landfill component of the facility.

A Dampier Peninsula Waste Management Plan has been developed, with Councillors being requested to endorse the document.

The Shire has received an amended development application for modifications to the existing Continental Hotel for Councillors’ consideration.

Councillors will be asked to endorse the advertising of the proposed 2021/22 differential rates, which electors and ratepayers will then be able to provide submissions on.

Shire officers have undertaken a review of the Shire’s Tourism Administration Policy, with minor changes recommended, with Councillors asked to endorse the amended policy.

Councillors will be asked to adopt a new Code of Conduct for Council Members, committee members and candidates, and a new Standards for Chief Executive Officer Recruitment, Performance and Termination Policy, after local government regulation changes.

There are three items to be heard behind closed doors, with Councillors to consider tenders for the construction of a children’s crossing and carpark on Port Drive, construction of concrete footpaths and crossovers, and the provision of beach lifeguard services at Cable Beach during the dry season.
