This Week at Council – December 2021
The Shire of Broome’s December 2021 Ordinary Meeting of Council and last one for the year will be held on Thursday, December 16 from 5pm at the Shire’s Council Chambers, with members of the public welcome to attend.
The agenda is available here, with several items to be voted on.
First on the agenda is an item proposing an amendment to 2021/22 fees and charges schedule – reinstatement of BRAC promotional and general entry pricing.
Funding through the Tourism Administration Policy for 2022/2023 applications are to be considered by Council. Two applications have been received.
A request has been received for the soon to-be-created road within the new subdivision for the Broome Health and Wellbeing Campus, Clementson Street, to be named ‘Mirda Road’. The Geographic Names Committee at Landgate are the approval authority for road naming and resolution of Council is required.
Shire planning officers have received a development application for a community purpose facility and construction of verge parking at Lot 1340 (124) Herbert Street, Broome and consideration by Council is required.
Broome’s popular coffee van Mollie Bean has requested transfer of their trading license to a new operator.
Council is requested to consider the adoption of the Shire of Broome’s Corporate Business Plan 2022-2026, following a full review in accordance with legislative requirements.
Acceptance of the 2020/21 Shire of Broome Annual Report by Council is proposed and additionally setting a date and time for the Annual General Meeting of Electors for 2022.
Approval is required by Council for retirement of the Restrictive Covenant Trees – Rivergum/Boab/Leichardt Ct Subdivision Policy and to apply to Landgate to have the restrictive covenant lifted from all properties within the Emerald Park Estate area.
Last but not least are the financial reports - the monthly payment listing for November 2021 and monthly statement of financial activity report for November 2021.
There is one item to be heard behind closed doors, with Councillors to consider RFQ 21-44 for supply and delivery of thirteen (13) light vehicles.
