The Shire of Broome is inviting the community to shop local, support Chinatown traders and give back to a local charity through the Community Rewards Chinatown competition.
From Friday 19 June to Friday 24 July 2026, shoppers who spend $10 or more at participating Chinatown stores can enter the draw for the chance to win a $100 Chinatown gift card PLUS a donation to their favourite local registered local charity.
It is a simple way to support the businesses that keep Chinatown moving, while giving a local community group or charity a little extra love along the way.
How to enter
- Spend $10 or more at any participating Chinatown store.
- Write your name and phone number on the back of the receipt (or get a duplicate receipt if you need to keep the original!) and option to nominate the charity of choice at time of entry or at time of winning
- Drop your entry card into one of the Community Rewards barrels during the promotion period.
- And then you’re in the draw!
Community Rewards barrels will be located at:

· Roebuck Bay Hotel - Pearlers Bar
· Roebuck Bay Hotel - Sports Bar
· Broome Tech & Business Hub
Look out for the Community Rewards posters in shop windows and on counters to find participating Chinatown stores.
How to win
Each week during the promotion, one lucky entry card will be drawn from the Community Rewards barrels.
The weekly winner will receive:
1. A $100 gift card to spend in Chinatown
2. A donation to a local registered charity of their choice

Community Rewards Chinatown competition terms and conditions
1. Promoter
The promoter is the Shire of Broome, ABN 94 526 654 007, 27 Weld Street, Broome WA 6725.
2. Promotion period
The Community Rewards Chinatown competition opens at 9.00am AWST on Friday 19 June 2026 and closes at 4.00pm AWST on Friday 24 July 2026.
Entries received after the closing date and time will not be accepted.
3. Eligibility
Entry is open to all residents and visitors in Western Australia.
Entrants under 18 years of age must have consent from a parent or guardian to enter. If an entrant under 18 years of age is drawn as a winner, the prize may be awarded to their parent or guardian on their behalf.
Employees, contractors, elected members and immediate family members of the Promoter, participating Chinatown businesses and any agencies directly associated with the administration of the competition are not eligible to enter.
4. How to enter
To enter, eligible entrants must:
- Spend $10 or more in a single transaction at any participating Chinatown store during the promotion period.
- Get a receipt for the transaction and write a valid name and phone number (nominated local registered charity can be written on the back of the receipt at time of entry or advised on winning).
- Place the completed entry card into a Community Rewards Chinatown barrel during the promotion period.
Community Rewards Chinatown barrels will be located at:
1. Paspaley Plaza: 8 Short St (main entry at 18 Carnarvon St), Broome
2. Roebuck Bay Hotel - Pearlers Bar: 28 Dampier Terrace, Broome
3. Roebuck Bay Hotel - Sports Bar: 28 Dampier Terrace, Broome
4. Broome Tech and Business Hub (BTB Hub): 2/1 Short St (main entry on corner of Short St & Dampier Terrace)
Entries must be completed clearly and in full. Incomplete, illegible, damaged, late or incorrectly submitted entries may be deemed invalid.
There is no additional cost to enter the competition beyond the cost of the qualifying purchase. The cost of goods or services purchased from a participating Chinatown store is no more than it would be without the opportunity to enter the competition.
5. Participating stores
Participating Chinatown stores will display a Community Rewards Chinatown poster in their shop window, at their counter or another visible location.
6. Entry limits
One entry card may be issued per eligible transaction of $10 or more.
Multiple entries are permitted, provided each entry is based on a separate eligible transaction and complies with these terms and conditions.
No duplicates entries for the same purchase are allowed.
7. Prizes
Each weekly winner will receive:
a) A $100 gift card to spend at participating Chinatown stores.
b) A donation made by the Promoter to the winner’s nominated local registered charity that is at least $100 per donation.
There will be five weekly prize draws during the promotion.
The total prize pool is valued at over $1,000 comprising:
a) Five $100 Chinatown gift cards, total value $500.
b) Five special donations to local registered charities, total value at least $500.
Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
Gift cards are subject to any terms and conditions imposed by the gift card provider and participating stores.
8. Nominated charity requirements
The nominated charity must be a registered local charity or eligible local not-for-profit organisation operating in, or providing services to the Shire of Broome WA community.
The Promoter may request further information to confirm the eligibility of the nominated charity.
If the nominated charity is not eligible, cannot be contacted, cannot accept the donation or does not meet the Promoter’s reasonable requirements, the winner may be asked to nominate an alternative eligible local registered charity.
The charity donation will be paid directly to the nominated eligible charity and will not be paid to the winner.
9. Prize draw
The prize draws will be conducted once a week by random manual draw from the Community Rewards Chinatown barrels. All entries from all barrels will be placed together in one barrel for the draw week.
Draws will take place at Paspaley Plaza, Broome WA 6725, on or around the following dates:
- Friday 26 June 2026
- Friday 03 July 2026
- Friday 10 July 2026
- Friday 17 July 2026
- Friday 24 July 2026
Each valid entry will be included in the next scheduled draw after it is received. Non-winning entries will remain eligible for subsequent draws during the promotion period. Should any bonus draws occur – all entries, including winning entries to date, will be included. Separate terms and conditions will be developed for any bonus draws.
The first valid entry drawn each week will be deemed the weekly winner.
If an entry is deemed invalid, the Promoter reserves the right to draw a replacement winner.
Where practicable, members of the public may witness the prize draw. If this is not practicable, audit records confirming the prize draw will be kept by the Promoter.
10. Winner notification
Winners will be contacted by phone using the contact details provided on their entry card within five business days of the relevant draw.
Winners may be announced on the Shire of Broome website, Shire of Broome social media channels and/or other promotional channels.
By entering the competition, entrants consent to the Promoter using their first name, surname initial, suburb and nominated charity for the purpose of announcing and promoting the competition, unless the entrant advises the Promoter otherwise.
11. Unclaimed prizes
If a winner cannot be contacted within 10 business days of the relevant draw, or if the winner is found to be ineligible, the Promoter may conduct a redraw.
Any redraw will be conducted using the same random manual draw method from all remaining valid entries.
12. Verification
The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and entrants, including proof of identity, proof of residency and visitation, proof of purchase and eligibility of the nominated charity.
The Promoter may disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions or who tampers with the entry process.
13. Lost, late or damaged entries
The Promoter is not responsible for any entry card that is lost, stolen, damaged, destroyed, incomplete, illegible, submitted late or placed in a location other than an official Community Rewards Chinatown barrel.
14. Changes, cancellation or withdrawal
Once the competition has commenced, these terms and conditions will not be amended without any required prior written approval from the Gaming and Wagering Commission of Western Australia.

15. Records
The Promoter will keep records relating to the competition for 12 months after the competition closes.
Records will be made available to an authorised officer or member of the Police on request.
16. Privacy
Personal information collected through the competition will be used by the Promoter for the purpose of administering the competition, contacting winners, verifying entries, awarding prizes and making charity donations.
Personal information may be disclosed to participating businesses, nominated charities, service providers or regulatory authorities where necessary for the administration of the competition or as required by law.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Promoter’s privacy practices.
17. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss, damage, injury or expense suffered or incurred by an entrant as a result of entering the competition, accepting or using a prize, or any technical, administrative or other issue that affects the competition.
Nothing in these terms and conditions limits, excludes or modifies any rights that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law.
18. General
The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into, except where required by law.
By entering the competition, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
This competition is conducted as a trade promotion lottery in Western Australia and is subject to applicable requirements under the Gaming and Wagering Commission Act 1987 and Gaming and Wagering Commission Regulations 1988.
