Sean Cooper is the Shire of Broome's newest Councillor, being sworn in after winning the Extraordinary Election on March 23.

He will hold the seat, previously held by former Shire President Harold Tracey, until the next general Council election in October 18, 2025.

Cr Cooper (pictured left with Shire Freeman Kim Male and Shire President Chris Mitchell) runs a local security firm and is the Broome Chamber of Commerce and Industry vice president and WA Ambassador for the men's mental health charity, Spoke to a Bloke.

His swearing-in means the Shire of Broome now has a full nine-member Council for the first time since the resignation of Cr Fiona West in October 2021.
