Work to construct a temporary staircase to the Broome Surf Life Saving Club from the southern ramp will commence on Monday, August 21.

Until then anyone needing to access the front of the Surf Club should continue using the foreshore path from near Zanders.

The temporary staircase, which will provide quicker access from the Surf Club car park, is expected to be completed by the end of the week.

They will be in place until an all-access entrance is installed as part of the Stage 1 Cable Beach Foreshore Redevelopment works.

The existing path from Zanders offers full accessibility to the Surf Club.

Vehicle access

During temporary staircase construction, there will be some disruption to approved vehicles that need to use the ramp, but pedestrian access won't be affected.

As a result, the BSLSC and Life Savers may be required to utilise the ramp at the northern end of the beach for short periods.
