Roadworks to improve safety and traffic flow and repair aging infrastructure are underway on a section of Old Broome Road until late July. From Saturday 20 June until Wednesday 1 July, Old Broome Road is temporarily open to southbound traffic and pedestrians.

Asbestos has to be carefully removed and disposed of at approved waste disposal sites.
Where more than 10m2 is to be removed, a registered contractor is required. Worksafe registers all contractors.
