Foster Carer Information Session

Can you open your heart and home
to a child in need?

Children and young people urgently need foster carers. A foster carer provides a stable and caring environment when a child or young person cannot live with their own family.

Lifestyle Solutions will be holding an information session on foster care during Carers Week.

Thursday 22nd October 2025 11.30am - 1pm  Staying Safe Online -Understanding AI

You've heard about it on the news, you know to be wary.  But what is AI?  Is it of any use to me?  What do I need to watch out for?

This is an introductory session to AI, delivered online from Darwin by NBN's Hailey Hardy.

Staff will be onsite to help you to have a go at using platforms such as ChatGPT, and some other AI tools

Learn how to search your family history, for free, online and safely.

'Gather Round' Community Sketchbook Project and Exhibition

All Broome community members are invited to participate.

Individual Sketchbook pages will be completed by participants, who can draw, paint or use mixed media,

to express their understanding of a cohesive Broome community.

The finished pages will be exhibited at the Broome Public Library, and then sewn into the

“Gather Round” Community Sketchbook.

Learn more about aged care at Broome Public Library

Broome Public Library is partnering with the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing and the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) in a community engagement initiative to raise awareness about changes to aged care. These changes – known as the aged care reforms – will improve aged care in Australia now and into the future.

Visit the aged care information hub located in Broome Public Library for the next few months to learn about aged care.
