Beach Safety Tips

Remember FLAGS when you visit the beach:

• F - Find the red and yellow flags and swim between them.
• L - Look at the safety signs.
• A - Ask a lifeguard for advice.
• G - Get a friend to swim with you.
• S - Stick your hand up and shout for help if in difficulty.

Swimming Areas

The Shire of Broome recommends swimming only at patrolled beaches, within the designated swimming area. This area is clearly marked with red and yellow flags. Cable Beach has a professional lifeguard service that runs daily from April – October, 9.00 am to 4.30pm.
