Chinatown Discovery Festival - Road Closure and Parking
Published on 26 May 2021
The Shire of Broome is looking forward to this weekend's Chinatown Discovery Festival, but there will be some traffic measures in place that the community should be aware of.
Dampier Terrace, between Napier Terrace and Short Street, will be closed for the Pearlers’ Games on Sunday, May 30 from approximately 8am – 5pm.
Also, to assist with vehicle movements, especially for Gray Street residents and Mitre 10 customers, Carnarvon Street North (Paspaley Plaza end) will be opened for through access only.
However, there will be no parking or stopping allowed on Carnarvon Street North due to ongoing construction work in the area.
If you are planning to attend the festival, please consider taking a taxi or carpooling. Otherwise, the best parking areas are outlined below and only a short stroll to the festival events and activities:
- Paspaley Plaza carpark off Short Street (don’t forget the upstairs carpark)
- Broome Visitor Centre carpark
- Sam Su Lane carpark (back of Broome Visitor Centre)
We hope you enjoy the Discovery Festival!
